I love my Mac devices just as much as the next guy, but I’m not willing to suffer for any of them. Look at this guy’s grill piece!!
Turns out Charlie Rose (the victim pictured above) tripped in an NYC pothole while carrying a freshly purchased MacBook Air. While on his way down to the concrete he decided he was going to protect the laptop and risk himself.
So now… he does his show with a bruised face. Another prime example of how materialistic we really are. More about this story at http://www.techcrunch.com

I don’t think it makes him out to be materialistic. He probably didn’t want to have to buy another one; being that they are expensive and he’s a Public TV employee (i.e. not rolling in dough). Perhaps he had a ton of important crap on his laptop, like most people do (who use it for work).
At the end of the day, assuming he did it because he’s materialistic is just that…..assuming.
